How does your website rank?
Do you know how your website ranks
on search engines? Here are a couple
of quick tips to evaluate your website's
search performance.
1. Use the free tool at Yahoo to see how often
customers search the most popular keywords. Go
to http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/rc/srch/?mkt=us
and click on "keyword selector tool."
2. Test your site on a regular basis.
There are five search engines that make
up the bulk of search traffic, search
the keywords people would use to find
your type of product or service on Google.com,
Yahoo.com, AOL.com, MSN.com and AskJeeves.com.
Enter the top keywords your potential
customers would use to look for your
site or service. If your site isn't
listed in the top three or four pages
of popular searches, you should explore
natural search engine optimization strategies
to improve your ranking.
