Chris Baggott: Not too late at all. I don’t know if branding is really the goal, right? We work with a very small business. We really try and talk about search engine optimization and how they get found and blogging is such a spectacular tool to kind of compete on the web levels of plain field and small businesses have just as much opportunities and anybody to do that. If you think about search from a local standpoint, small businesses actually have an advantage. If you think most small businesses are local and go with that math then you know who’s going to win Ace Hardware Stores Home Depot in Indianapolis, Indiana well good chance that the Ace Store has an if they’re blogging.
David Berkowitz: You know I think with SCO there’s just a lot of our premise with small businesses to get more content out there and to build relationships that lead to linking and a lot of that community helps good sites to bubble up to the top.
Jay Berkowitz: Well search engine optimization is really, really important and it might sound really fancy but there’s some basic things you can do to make search engine optimization really work. The simplest things is adding keywords to every page on your website but you want to pick two or three main keyword phrases that you’re going to focus on that website. You want to add that keyword phrase in the title of the page two or three times throughout the page so you would like that phrase to appear on the first paragraph, the body of the page on the bottom paragraph.
Lee Odden: Find out what bloggers write a lot about widgets or read widgets and let them know that you’ve written this really neat guy that they might be interested in. Make comments on their blogs, that sort of thing. Optimize press releases our other tactic which will drive links back to your website and particularly your page about read widgets. That would mean then our search engine start to see well look at this site by looking at the keywords just about read widgets. Look at all these other sites that talk about something similar. They’re linking to that site and that’s fundamentally how search engine rankings will increase.
