I Learned More in Five Weeks Than I Did in Five Years

Olivia Bibbee

Five weeks at Ten Golden Rules has taught me that most people (and even some agencies) don’t know much about digital marketing.

I’m Jenna – the new Customer Success Manager here at Ten Golden Rules.

My first 5 weeks have been like drinking through a firehose of digital marketing training and best practices.

I’ve been working in the digital marketing space for 5 years now, but the knowledge I gained in that time doesn’t hold a candle to what I’ve learned in just five weeks at Ten Golden Rules.

Since joining the Ten Golden Rules team, I’ve been exposed to master strategies that get real results, and I’ve seen them work firsthand for our clients.

Here are a few things I’ve learned in my short time with Ten Golden Rules…

Automation & Integration

One of the best hacks I’ve learned at TGR is how to use automation to integrate different platforms and trigger actions on the back-end of websites. I learned how to link the completion of a form fill on a website to an automation that will send them a confirmation text and email in minutes. This technology saves so much time, and really helps eliminate a lot of mindless work!

Call & Chat Tracking

The first statistic I learned here was that phone calls to law firms convert to signed clients 25% of the time – your average form-fill converts only 2-3%! TGR puts a heavy emphasis on driving traffic to mobile phones and getting clicks to call. I’ve learned that making small tweaks to your website (like adding a phone number in the right places on the home page) can have a huge impact on overall client generation.

Keywords for SEO

Keywords are the backbone of an SEO-optimized website. I’ve learned best practices on incorporating these keywords that a website is already ranking for into their blogs to help improve their SEO searchability and raise their website in Google’s organic listings. I’ve seen how a few keywords can make it exponentially easier for a potential client to search for and find a website.

Why Video Content Works

Video Content is KEY! TGR focuses on incorporating video content into written blog content, which is a combination that both captures a viewer’s attention and helps the website rank higher in Google results. Videos really speak to a potential client, so incorporating them into web content leads to much higher engagement and retention.

LSAs Local Service Ads

Local Service Ads offer a wealth of opportunity to local businesses – we use this practice ourselves at TGR! LSAs are prominently displayed at the top of search results, making it easier for potential customers to find and connect with your business. If a client of ours isn’t making use of LSAs when they sign on with us, it’s one of the first (and easiest) things we do.

Unless you’re an expert at digital marketing, you might not have known much about these topics before reading this blog! The truth is, most digital marketing experts don’t have the knowledge or experience to execute each of these tactics properly.

After just five weeks at TGR, it’s become clear to me just how little most digital marketers know compared to the nearly 20 years of tried-and-true experience that TGR puts to practice!
